Another Karapiro, this time in Lincoln. With interest rates on the rise, our clients wanted a cost-effective first move on their large, empty section: somewhere to live, somewhere to keep the caravan, and room to build the main house later.
Project overview
A smart first move
Rather than stretch for the full house straight away, they put it on hold and built this one-bedroom minor dwelling first. It gives them a warm home and serious storage now, without closing off the bigger plan for the section.
Room for the caravan
The garage was built with 2.6m high roller doors so the caravan drives straight in. At 96m², the two-car garage has room for plenty more besides.
A pantry and a patio
Two additions to the standard Karapiro make the living side work harder: a pantry off the kitchen, and a covered patio for the evenings.
Storage and living space in the right balance: sorted for now, with the main house still to come when the time is right.
